Other Ways To Volunteer
Manatee Literacy Council has a staff of one part-time employee. That means that volunteers are crucial to the organization. While tutoring is the most common way to volunteer with Manatee Literacy Council, there are several additional ways to get involved.
Office Help
Answer phones and perform light office duties such as filing and copying.
Tutor Training
Train the trainers. Previous tutor training experience required.
Community Relations
Help increase awareness of Manatee Literacy Council through community relations, partnerships, and outreach, including traditional and social media.
Program Development
Work with the Executive Director and Program Coordinator to enhance and expand programs offered.
Student Involvement
The more students are engaged, the higher their rate of success in our literacy programs. Volunteers can start conversation clubs and plan student events.
Computers/Data Entry
Help Manatee Literacy Council keep our digital records up to date by entering data. Computer-savvy volunteers are always needed for IT support.
Special Events
Manatee Literacy Council holds various events throughout the year, including open houses and volunteer appreciation dinners. Volunteers are needed to plan and execute these parties.
Fundraising
Help Manatee Literacy Council raise funds to support our mission.
