Dear MLC students,

My name is Joane, and many of you know me from the office or from helping students in their classes. I started here as a student too, so I know what it’s like to learn English for your family, for your job, and for your future. MLC changed my life, and now I’m grateful that I can help others on their path.

Today, I am writing to you because we need your help .

More adults than ever are seeking access to English classes, but funding these free programs has become more difficult than ever . We want to keep the classes free, we want to add more hours and more levels, and we want to make sure no one has to wait to learn — but we can’t do it alone.

A small donation can make a big difference.

Even a small contribution can help a lot. With the Flanzer Philanthropic Trust , our donations are doubled , meaning: Just $5 per month turns into $120 per year to support the programs.

And here’s something really great! If just 75 students gave $5 per month, it would fund an entire class for a year.

We, more than anyone, know how important these classes are.
