Welcoming Our New Board Member, Roberto!
We are proud to welcome Roberto Robles-Rosario to the Manatee Literacy Council Board of Directors. Roberto brings a wealth of experience, a passion for lifelong learning, and a deep commitment to helping others—values that align beautifully with our mission.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Roberto is a dedicated healthcare professional with more than 23 years of nursing experience. He holds both Registered Nurse (RN) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) credentials and has worked in a wide range of clinical settings, including Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU), Pediatric and Adult Emergency Rooms, and Intensive Care Units. Most recently, he worked with the Puerto Rico Department of Health, conducting COVID-19 testing and administering vaccines during the pandemic.
In May 2023, Roberto made the bold decision to move to Florida alone in search of new opportunities. Since then, he has continued his career in healthcare as a home care nurse and is fully licensed by the State of Florida Department of Health.
Roberto is also a proud father of two daughters: his oldest is currently in nursing school, and his youngest recently began a bachelor’s program in psychology. As a parent and professional, he is deeply motivated by personal growth and service to others.
Since August 2023, Roberto has been an active English learner through Manatee Literacy Council’s online classes. His dedication to improving his English and connecting with the community has made him a shining example of the empowerment we strive to provide. He says the lessons have helped him build confidence when speaking with native English speakers, and he is honored to now give back to MLC as a board member.
Outside of work and volunteering, Roberto enjoys riding his Jet Ski, exercising, and advocating for environmental protection. His personal goals include improving his English pronunciation, becoming a better person every day, and continuing to help others in meaningful ways.
We are thrilled to have Roberto’s compassionate spirit and international perspective on our board. Please join us in welcoming Roberto Robles-Rosario to the Manatee Literacy Council family!
